Nokia E50

2 new themes after the firmware update

If you are looking for the new themes (skins) that were announced in the latest Nokia E50 changelog you can find them through the Catalogs (thanks TV for the hint). Here is a short guide for those who are not very familiar with the Catalogs application:

1. Go to the Catalogs application which you’ll find in the Main Application Shell

2. First item in the Catalogs should be Nokia extra applications, select it, then scroll down and find the Themes item

3. Download both available themes (Dark Stripes and Steel). You can activate them in the Tools – Themes menu.

Although I’m not fan of modifying my phone I have to say that these themes look pretty neat – simple, sharp and professional. I switched to the Dark Stripes for now and I think I’m going to stick with it. How do you like them? Do you use custom themes or are you fine with the default one?

    Here are another few high-quality themes to download. The first, “Pearl Black”, looks fantastic on my metal black E50.

    [3] kamini, there is a short guide in the article which describes how to download and activate these themes. It doesn’t work for you? Which phone do you have?

    I downloaded Dark stripes the day after i got my phone and i’ve had it applied ever since. IMO its much better than the default nokia Theme. reading text messages is alot easier with the black background to white letters. very nice contrast.

    I downloaded the steel after software upgrade. Still pretty bland, I have carbide UI and have made several of my own….

    it looks great, i’ve upgrade my E50 and download dark striped themes.
    My E50 go faster since upgrade, and Themes look more contrast. Splendid!

    I’m having a problem downloading on my E50. Is there a place where these are posted on the web such that I could get the .sis files and install them directly from my laptop?

    I can’t seem to find Catalogs on my E50, nor can I install it from the Nokia site :( Can someone post the Nokia Steel theme please?
